Important - new passport rules from 1 January 2012

From 1 January 2012 Denmark will introduce new biometric passports. This means that the Danish Consulates in New Zealand cannot accept applications for new passports or renewal of existing passports after this date. They can, however, issue emergency passports and renew existing passports for 12 months, provided they have not been expired for more than two years.

Application for the new biometric passports can only be made at Danish representations authorised to receive passport applications. The nearest Danish representations that are authorised to receive applications for the new biometric passports are the Danish Embassy in Canberra, and the  Danish Consulate-General in Sydney.
